Mount Wilson, Red Rock Canyon, NV

Backside Message:
Mount Wilson at 7070 feet (2155 m) is the tallest peak in the nearly 200,000 acre Red Rock Canyon National Recreation Area. It's jagged and colorful Aztec sandstone features speak to a spectacular and unusual geologic history. Long ago under a vast ocean, its contrasting bands were created as the waters receded and oxidation occurred. Please help preserve the fragile desert environment: pack it in, pack it out, stay on existing trails, plan ahead and Leave no Trace.
