Desert Big Horn Sheep near Las Vegas, NV

Backside Message:
The Desert Bighorn, seen here in Juniper Canyon, are found in nearly waterless and vegetation barren mountain ranges in Nevada, California, west Texas and parts of Mexico. The male ram is known for his massive brown horns that curl back over the ears; down, and up past the cheeks. With tremendously acute eyesight the Bighorn jumps between narrow footholds on rocky cliffs and mountainsides. If sighted, admire them from afar, as they are a delicate and protected species. Remember to stay on existing trails, pack it in/pack it out, plan ahead and Leave no Trace.
