The La Madre Mountain Wilderness Area is visible above the northern viewscape of Red Rock Canyon National Recreation Area. Encompassing 47,180 acres, it's most prominent feature is La Madre Peak (8,154 feet/2485 meters) shown here. Part of the Spring Mountains, this area is one of the most biologically diverse in Nevada.
